FBN Continues As Fastest Growing Network On Television With Highest Rated Month Ever In Total Viewers

FOX Business Network (FBN) continued as the fastest growing network on cable delivering its highest rated month ever this July, according to Nielsen Media Research. Business Day (9:30AM-5PM/ET) saw a 78 percent increase in total viewers with 148,000, while primetime grew 210 percent year over year. In addition, Lou Dobbs Tonight once again ranked as the number one news program on business television, beating out all of CNBC’s core business programs. As the month ended with back to back Republican and Democratic National Conventions, FBN set another record, sweeping CNBC in total viewers during the combined eight day coverage for the first time since launching in 2007.

FBN’s Lou Dobbs set a network record this month earning his seventh consecutive win over CNBC’s 7PM/ET timeslot in total viewers. Averaging 265,000 total viewers and 53,000 in the advertiser friendly demo of adults aged 25-54, Dobbs completely swept his competition across the board. In addition, all FBN Business Day programs had their highest rated month ever. Stuart Varney’s Varney & Co (9AM-12PM/ET) notched its first monthly win over CNBC during the 11AM/ET hour with 197,000 total viewers, beating out Squawk Alley which only earned 182,000. Varney’s win catapulted him to the fifth most-watched news program on business television, a first top five finish for the show.
