Updated on

The much-awaited Xbox One S is coming out next month. Though Microsoft is yet to make an official announcement, the Spanish version of Amazon has the upcoming console listed for August 2 release. That’s just three weeks away. The new console will be launched with up to 2TB of storage, built-in power supply, 4K video support, and High Dynamic Range.

Xbox One S Gears of War 4 to be a 2TB system

Noted tipster @ekim_gaf has revealed that the Redmond-based company will be releasing Special Edition Xbox One S models – one with Gears of War 4 theme and another with a bundle for Halo 5: Guardians. The Gears of War bundle is expected to be a 2TB system. It will come with a digital copy of the $100 Gears of War 4 Ultimate Edition, including a season pass and other digital items.

The Ultimate Edition will unlock on October 7, so you will be able to play the game 4 days before its public release on October 11. Ekim added that the Gears of War special edition is likely to be priced at $449.99, though the actual price may change. Gamers can play the Gears of War 4 on their Xbox One S as well as on Windows 10 as it is a “play anywhere” title.

Halo 5 bundle expected to be cheaper than GoW4 edition

Ekim said the Halo 5 bundle will be a 1TB system, and include a copy of Halo 5. There was no word on its pricing or release date, though its price is expected to be lower than that of the Gears of War bundle. Microsoft announced that Xbox One S at the E3 2016 event. According to GameSpot, Microsoft will initially release only the 2TB version, while the 1TB and 500GB models will be available near the end of the year.

The Xbox One S is about 40% smaller than the Xbox One. Microsoft will release a far more powerful Xbox Project Scorpio in time for the next year’s holiday shopping season. It is said to be 4.5x more powerful than the existing Xbox One.
