If you’re a little tired of the rumor mill constantly going on and on about the iPhone 7 and the possibility of an iPhone 8, you may be able to take heart. Here’s a welcome respite (perhaps), courtesy some new rumors / images of what are supposed to be Apple’s next Gen iPad.
Next Gen iPad pro 2
The images are supposed to be of the next 12.9-inch iPad Pro, commonly referred to as the iPad Pro 2. An anonymous source sent them to Apple Insider. They were supposedly taken by an individual who works closely / within Apple’s Asian supply chain.
Can’t make out the design!
If you take a look at these images, the first thing you will notice is that they are very poor quality and were so close to them that their design cannot be made out. However, what they do show is a black and white iPad Pro 2 tablet running on what looks like the native iOS settings app, displaying the “About” information of the tablet.
Carlson Capital's Black Diamond Arbitrage Partners fund added 1.3% net fees in the first quarter of 2021, according to a copy of the firm's March 2021 investor update, which ValueWalk has been able to review. What can we tell from the images?
As far as the “About” information is concerned, the tablets show that they are usingmodel number MH1C2CD.F, which if I am correct is not and has never been given to an Apple product in the past. Furthermore, this model number follows the path that Apple has followed with regard to model numbers in the past. So this could be genuine, but I wouldn’t like to bet my house on it!
Moving on to other information in the settings App, it clearly shows that the tablet has just 12GB of onboard storage. This is probably just enough to test the device and have iOS installed with a few apps of choice. There’s a good chance that this is the standard configuration used for testing the device, as it makes sense to keep a prototype limited in its specs, as this would help to keep testing costs low (I think).
There’s nothing much more I can say / gather from these images. While there is no real reason to doubt the authenticity of the photographs, there is also no real reason to believe that they are genuine, so take them with a grain of salt.
As for when we may officially hear something from Apple, the tech giant is expected to make an announcement about the iPad Pro and its future in September. If that is the case, I personally hope that the announcement mentions improvements that include an improved / faster processor, a much better camera than the last iPad had, and a much-needed improvement to the display. Perhaps it will have a display that brings it up to the standards of the current 9.7-inch iPad Pro!
