iPhone 7 Specs And Features Wish List

Updated on

If like me you are a lover of all things mobile technology, you can’t wait for new information to be leaked about the latest smartphone from your favourite manufacturer. Let’s say you are an avid Apple fan and you’ve had every iteration of iPhone since the 3G. Furthermore, you’ve become bored with the iPhone 6 Plus and have decided to skip the new iPhone SE, so that can only leave the iPhone 7?

iPhone 7 Specs And Features Wish List

Whilst there are rumors floating around the tech press that Apple may forgo the “iPhone 7” instead favoring to go straight to the iPhone 8 in this article we are going to stick firmly with the 7 and take a look at what it could have in store for us!

Release Date

Over the years Apple has been a stickler for choosing to launch its new handsets in September however, that could all be about to change. According to sources close to the manufacturer it could come sooner. How much sooner the source does not know…. however, conflicting reports have suggested that chip manufacturers are getting ready to increase capacity in 2nd and 3rd quarters of this year.

iPhone 7 Wish list

Before we go any further it is safe to say that the information contained in this article is subject to change. As it stands Apple has not confirmed any of the specifications and features we are about to talk discuss.

Design Wish List

The “6” variants of the iPhone in my opinion all looked very similar as you would have expected them to. However, some may say that that design has had its day and it is now time to move on! Here’s what I want from the design of an iPhone 7.

  • A really slim build.
  • It needs to be water resistant, I would prefer it to be water tight.
  • The antenna lines should be no more.
  • An edge to edge display, whilst some consider this design features to be the cause of many problems I don’t agree.

What are the Rumors Saying?

Dual Camera: Rumours abound about Apple making some huge changes when it comes to the camera on the iPhone 7, these rumours consistently talk about a dual camera. This multi-camera technology is according to reports from a company called Linx, which Apple purchased about a year ago.

I will now throw a curve ball your way, not all iPhone 7s will have the ability to harness the power of a dual-camera. The feature is apparently being held in reserve for a high end variant which at this moment is being referred to as the iPhone 7 Pro .

WaterProof Body: With the iPhone 6 being thought of as splash proof it seems only natural that Apple would want to continue the trend of making immersive devices and take it a step further with the iPhone 7.

Many manufacturers have attempted to make waterproof handsets and all have come across the same issue: How to protect external ports effectively against water? Apple apparently has solved this problem which could mean that the iPhone 7 is totally resistant against water.

QHD or 4K Display: Apple has been a little behind in the display resolution race for some time now (according to some critics) and the iPhone 7 could be in for a huge leap in technology where that is concerned.

Rumours are suggesting that Apple is about to use glass-on-glass technology which opens the possibility for the new handsets display to be either QHD or even a 4K display.

What about Specifications?

Camera: It is difficult to confirm for sure, but many industry insiders are suggesting that the iPhone 7 will have both a front facing 14-megapixel camera and a secondary 4-megapixel front facing camera, which actually fits in to line with the dual-camera technology that I mentioned earlier.

Processor: From what I’ve been told and have also read the iPhone 7 could be packing some serious power. One relatively trusted source Wibo suggests that the handset will have a hexa-core A10 chip. This would be a huge jump when compared to previous iPhones and one that I am not convinced about.

Battery: One of the biggest gripes every iPhone owner I know has is with the battery, so I and many others are hoping that Apple moves on this. The Chinese site Digi.tech.qq.com recently leaked images of what may be the iPhone 7s battery and it makes it clear that a huge jump in capacity could be in store.

Final Thoughts

So what do we now know about the new iPhone 7? It could be a completely revolutionary iPhone one that solidifies Apple’s position at the very top of the smartphone tree. Rumoured to have not only a hexa-core processor, but also be waterproof and feature either a QHD or a 4K display, and at least 3GB of RAM it could be the iPhone that every iPhone lover has always wanted.

However, on the other hand and as I mentioned earlier Apple could be about to completely skip the number 7 and move on to the iPhone 8.
