Home Invasion Shooting Has OSU Students “Sheltering In Place”

Updated on

The expression “shelter in place” has gained far and away too much credence in the last few years.

That said, following the shooting of two during a presumed home invasion near the campus of Ohio State University, a Buckeye Alert was sent to students advising them to “shelter in place/be observant/take action as needed.”

The incident occurred around 1:30PM local time in an off-campus building on West Northwood Avenue just west of High Street.

First responders and those on the scene told (local) NBC4 that one of the shooting victims was taken to OSU Wexner Medical Center in critical condition. The status of the other victim is unknown at present.

In a second tweet, the Buckeye Alert told students that the suspect in the shootings was a 6’0″ tall black male with dreadlocks and glasses.

Given the nature of the injuries to the two victims, the suspect is presumed to be armed and dangerous.
