New iPhone 7 Concept Video Released

The new concept video shows off an iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Pro concept with some crazy proposed features.

The latest rumors surrounding the next generation iPhone suggest that Apple is thinking of releasing a Pro version. We are expected to see the new handset around this fall, but this latest concept imagines the features that it will include.

If the rumors are true we will see two more new iPhone models from Apple in 2016. Just this week the company released the cheaper 4-inch iPhone SE.

The iPhone 7 Pro will top out the range and looks set to include some serious power. This latest concept adds a few more outlandish features which are unlikely to make it onto the final phone.

According to this particular concept designer the iPhone 7 will feature a 4K display, which is a bit over the top for a smartphone. Alongside the high-tech screen is a 12MP front-facing camera, and a 20MP rear-facing module.

Do we need a smartphone with 256GB of storage?

The current iPhone 6s features as 12MP camera which allows you to take some seriously impressive shots. It’s unlikely that there is any benefit to boosting the pixel count as high as 20MP.

The concept designer has imagined the 4K display as an edge-to-edge unit, which helps to make the user experience more immersive. Another feature is the Touch ID Home button living on screen, and fully customizable by the user.

According to the designer the next iPhone will be available in 16, 64, 128, and 256GB. It would arguably make more sense to add a 32GB version instead of the 16GB.

Apple fans have long complained that the smallest iPhone does not allow you to make the best use of the features given the size of popular apps. At the other end of the scale the 256GB is potentially too much memory for a smartphone, although the Samsung Galaxy S7 can handle SD cards of up to 200GB. Apple may be attempting to head off its biggest rival.

What is Apple planning for the new iPhone?

The concept seems to be fairly outrageous and it seems unlikely that the proposed features will be seen on the production version. It may be that Apple decides to stick with similar design features that are currently found on the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus.

Other leaks show a slightly tweaked design that will see engineers remove the antenna lines and fit the camera flush to the body of the smartphone. Camera modules are a limiting factor in the race to make thinner and thinner smartphones, which is why so many smartphones have slightly protruding cameras.

Speaking of camera modules another rumor concerns the potential inclusion of a dual-camera system on the iPhone 7 Pro. The technology, developed by Israeli company LinX, would dramatically improve performance in low light.

Apple itself has not made any sort of announcement on the next generation iPhone and industry watchers are currently wading through rumor after rumor. At this stage it is best to be cautious when reading information that you find online.

In the age of the internet it doesn’t take long for a fantastical rumor to spread around the world before it turns out to be based on pure hearsay. I would be very surprised if Apple puts a 4K screen on the iPhone 7 Pro.
