LG Electronics has officially confirmed that its new modular smartphone LG G5 will be available in South Korea on March 31 and in the US on April 1. If you were fascinated by G5’s modular design and ‘Friends’ accessories, AT&T is offering a lucrative deal for you. The carrier has started accepting pre-orders for the device, with a buy one get one offer.
AT&T to reimburse $689 over 30 months
AT&T has listed the LG G5 at $23 per month on a Next 24 plan over a period of 30 months. If you want to buy it upfront, you’ll have to shell out $689. The carrier will give you a second G5 for free if you are willing to activate a new line. The second phone won’t be free per se because you’ll still be out the cost of two smartphones. But AT&T promises to reimburse $689 over a 30 month period.
Note that customers still have to pay activation fees and sales taxes on both the handsets at the time of purchase. AT&T said both new and existing customers can avail this offer. The offer expires on March 31. Meanwhile, Best Buy is offering $100 savings on the G5 with purchase and activation from Sprint. Best Buy is also giving a $100 gift card with purchase and activation of a monthly plan.
