This is a “Top Gear” type of car truly worthy of its distinction as the ultimate in engineering and grace. This is a sexy coupe with a roofline that looks like its about to take off like a rocket. The addition of a glass-roof for star-gazing at 200 MPH is truly audacious.
While the styling of the GT makes it about 10% heavier than the McLaren 570S, it still will get you there in a hurry.
We are talking about a McLaren M838T V-8, with 562 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque, the extra weight shouldn’t present many people with speed issues as you drive it around with its dual-clutch seven-speed automatic transmission that offers Normal, Sport, and Track driving modes.
The car is tuned for the ultimate in road driving comfort and even has room for your golf clubs AND a suitcase.
The interior is just plane gorgeous
That’s not a typo. The interior resembles the cockpit of the most expensive private jet ever built that wasn’t just designed with comfort for the passengers.
With dual zone air conditioning, no outlandish levers and more than adequate head room, it doesn’t matter how tall your super-model boyfriend or girlfriend is, you’ll both be comfortable.
The seats possess a memory function and for a few extra dollars (in for a penny in for a pound) you can upgrade the stock Audio Plus system to a 12-speaker array built by Bowers & Wilkins.
The use of leather is both spartan and complete if those two can co-exist. This lovely leather is everywhere but has no garish flourishes that are far too often seen inside of luxury touring coupes these days.
For a two-person touring car, McLaren has truly outdone itself. This is a car that can blow the doors off of nearly any car you will meet on the road while impressing both industrial and fashion designers along with everyone else who sees it.
