Tesla’s factory in California faced a small fire accident on Tuesday, according to the local fire department. The department took to Twitter to report the incident, saying that at around 2 p.m. Eastern, its firefighters in Fremont responded to a structure fire that took place at the Fremont Boulevard factory.

Tesla mentioned on its website that the fire took place at the 5.3 million-square-foot manufacturing and office space, which is the high-tech home of the company’s signature electric powered vehicles. Local San Francisco-area media reported that the fire caused just one alarm because it was small, and it took just a few minutes to contain it with no injuries.
Speaking to CNBC, a Tesla spokesperson said, “There was a small fire this morning in an air handling unit in the ceiling of the north end of the factory. No one was harmed, there was no damage to the production line. Our on-site safety team was able to extinguish the fire quickly.”
Used Model X available for purchase
In other Tesla-related news, a used Model X is available for purchase just months after the release. The owner took to Panjo to offload his Model X once he realized that they didn’t really need an SUV. The listing, which is still active, is offering the Model X Signature Edition with a red exterior and black interior but for a whopping $215,000, a markup of 60% to the car’s $134,200 MSRP.
Just like the Model S Signature edition, the Model X Signature edition is a limited-edition vehicle as well. Goodies such as matte wood trim, six seats, air suspension, high-end audio and the Subzero Weather Package come loaded with this Model X.
“The car is brand new. Only 500 miles on it. No problems, dents or scratches. The reason I’m selling is because I don’t really need an SUV right now. The car has an MSRP of $134,200. Asking $215,000 or best offer. Serious inquiries only,” reads the description.
Potential customers interested in buying a Model X but who do not wish to go through the whole process of ordering it first and then waiting for months can benefit from such a listing, but they will have to pay the premium. Considering that Tesla is still working on ramping production, spending those extra dollars for skipping the line could actually be worth it.
