Meb Faber is the co-founder and Chief Investment Officer of Cambria Investment Management. A prolific writer, Meb has authored numerous white papers and four books including Shareholder Yield, The Ivy Portfolio, and Global Value, and his latest book Invest With The House, released today.
Having graduated from the University of Virginia with a double major in Engineering Science and Biology, finance on the surface sounds like an unlikely route for Meb, who says he’s always been horrible at stock picking. But from learning how to do value added research and identifying and tracking the Michael Jordans of investing, Meb has become a notable influencer in finance.
For a number of years, Meb has been writing about 13F investing strategies, an area that he declares has more disinformation than any other topic in finance. It’s through diligent research, accessing public data, such as 13F filings, and tracking the Michael Jordans of the hedge fund universe that Meb has cultivated an effective, long-term investing strategy.
We caught up with Meb, who is a highly regarded colleague of AlphaClone, to learn more about his insights on navigating active management and how average investors and financial advisors can implement his strategies.
