Galaxy S7 Cases Reveal Design, Other Features

Updated on

Samsung’s upcoming flagship Galaxy S7 is one of the most widely anticipated smartphones of 2016. Now images have emerged showing the Galaxy S7 phones complete with their cover cases. The latest images come from British accessories retailer Mobile Fun (via GSM Arena), and feature the FlexiShield Gel Case by Olixar along with the upcoming smartphone.

Mobile Fun also lists some official accessories

The front panel of the device is clearly visible in the images. Mobile Fun has also listed cover cases for the Galaxy S7 Edge, but without any pictures. The standard S7 sports a 5.1-inch display, a narrow square-shaped home button with the usual back and multi-window buttons on either side below the display. The front camera is placed on the top right corner. The cases are seen in Silver, Navy Blue, Black, and Light Blue color options.

Mobile Fun has also listed some “official” accessories such as a Backpack, a QWERTY Keyboard cover, a Clear Cover case, the S View Case, and a Guard Cover Case. Samsung is widely expected to unveil the Galaxy S7 next month around the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. Reports suggest that the S7 and S7 Edge will hit the stores just a few days after unveiling in February. Samsung is planning an initial production run of 5 million units.

New report confirms Galaxy S7 features

On Tuesday, supply chain sources confirmed to SamMobile many of the previously rumored features. Samsung is bringing microSD slot to both phones. The screen sizes will be 5.1-inch for the Galaxy S7 and 5.5-inch for S7 Edge, taking a cue from Apple’s iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. The two phones will feature the same Super AMOLED display with 1440 x 2560 resolution. One major difference in the screen will be the always-on display (AOD) functionality.

The 32GB models of the S7 and S7 Edge will cost 699 euros and 799 euros respectively. Some other reports suggest that Samsung will downgrade the Galaxy S7 camera megapixels from 16MP to 12MP. But the lower resolution is unlikely to impact the image quality because the camera module will be coupled with an f/1.7 lens aperture (Galaxy S6 features f/1.9 lens aperture).
