On Tuesday, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) rejected Volkswagen’s proposed recall fix to the 2.0 liter diesel cars that were a centerpiece of the emissions scandal that began in September. The rejection comes just a day before Volkswagen CEO Matthias Mueller is expected to meet with EPA head Gina McCarthy in Washington, D.C.. The EPA expressed its support for the CARB rejection of Volkswagen’s proposed recall fix shortly after the decision was made.
