Apple Devices Now Handheld Studios With New Music Apps

Apple Devices are getting hotter… Tech giant Apple has announced the launch of a new addition to its range of music-making iOS apps.

The new app is called Music Memos and has been released as part of a major update to the Apple music app offering. Music Memos allows musicians to work on their ideas right from their iPhone, while the existing GarageBand app is updated with new features, according to a company press release.

Apple Devices – Making music has never been easier on Apple iOS devices

“Musicians around the world, from the biggest artists to aspiring students, use Apple devices to create amazing music; the innovative new Music Memos app will help them quickly capture their ideas on iPhone and iPad whenever inspiration strikes,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing.

Musicians previously used the Voice Memos app to record samples and ideas, but now they will have a dedicated app which can record any instrument before adding a virtual, customizable backing band that plays along with your song.

For iCloud users Music Memos will be synced across devices, and you can open them in GarageBand or Logic Pro X? for further work. The app is free on the App Store, and will work on iPhone 4s and later.

Apple Devices – GarageBand becomes an even more complete package after update

“GarageBand is the most popular music creation app in the world, and this update helps everyone easily tap into their musical talent with the powerful new Live Loops and Drummer features, and adds support for the larger iPad Pro screen and 3D Touch on iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus,” Schiller continued.

Live Loops allows for the simple creation of music by tapping cells and columns in a grid, triggering a number of loops that can be manipulated live. A number of loops are pre-loaded but advanced musicians can also create their own.

The Drummer feature provides 9 EDM and acoustic virtual drummers that provide a backing track to your composition, while also offering a wider choice of amps for bass players. GarageBand 2.1 is free with new iOS devices with 32GB of storage and up, and existing users can upgrade for free if they have iOS 9 or later installed.

Other users can buy the app for $4.99 from the Apple App Store.
