iPhone 6S And 6S Plus: How To Adjust 3D Touch Sensitivity

Updated on

Now that Apple has officially announced and released their all-new flagships, the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, the focus has shifted to how some of their new features function. One of the most talked-about features is the new 3D touch technology. This technology enables users to press the screen in order to invoke new actions.

Apple has also explained how this 3D touch works in a video, calling it the next generation of multi-touch. Apple calls these new gestures Peek and Pop. For example, in an app, press lightly to see a peek into the content, and continue pressing it to pop you into the content. While this might sound great, you might want to adjust this 3D touch setting and configure how hard you want to press the screen to invoke these new commands.

Adjusting 3D touch sensitivity on iPhone 6s

Here’s how you can configure this setting.

Step 1: Launch the Settings app, go to General and tap on Accessibility.

Step 2: Scroll down and you will see the 3D Touch menu. Tap on it.

Step 3: From here, you can turn off or on the 3D touch feature and also adjust the amount of pressure needed to activate it.

There are three settings: light, medium and firm. The light setting reduces the amount of pressure required, and the firm sensitivity increases the amount of pressure required.

On the same menu, there’s a 3D touch sensitivity test below the adjustment. You can test out the new setting directly here so that you can set sensitivity as per your convenience.
