Google finally announced several improvements to its Chrome browser (Chrome 45) that has been offering slow speeds and shaky stability for several months now. The updates will surely help in improving the lives of millions for whom Chrome is the preferred browser.
Google brings much-needed updates
RAM usage will be reduced, and the battery life will be improved with the under-the-hood upgrades made to the latest version of Chrome. The browser will now detect when a webpage is not busy with some other task, and make use of this free time in cleaning up the old unused memory, Google explains. It has been observed that the usage of website memory reduces by 10% with this practice, and the effects on more complex web pages are even more dramatic, claims the Internet firm. For example, nearly a quarter of the memory used by the tab can be freed up with Gmail.
“So in the latest release of Chrome we’ve included a ton of improvements to make your browsing use less memory and power,” Google says in a blog post.
Restoration of tabs now is faster and more useful. First, the most recent tabs get loaded, making it easier for the user to pick up where it was left. In June, the Flash-killing feature was heard for the first time, but now it becomes a standard on the latest version. Unless a user clicks on the Flash plug-ins, they won’t load, and this makes the battery last up to 15% longer.

According to Google, the performance improvements will be introduced into the browser over the coming weeks, and for the upcoming versions a good bit more already into works. The users can update to the latest version of Chrome by clicking on the menu in the top right corner of the browser.
All of this not only sounds great but is actually great, and the difference in speed can be noticed immediately on opening several apps at once.
