Things To Know If You’re Buying iPhone 6s, 6s Plus On Launch Day

Updated on

Apple’s latest flagships, the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus, both go on sale Sept. 25. If you want to get your hands on one early and pick up your brand new iPhone from your local Apple Store, then be prepared to stand in line. But apart from that, there are a few other things also you need to know before getting in line.

Early purchasers already know how Apple usually handles this situation. From past years, not much has changed, but still it’s a good thing to know how you will get your new iPhone on launch day, courtesy of 9To5Mac.

Things to know about buying iPhone on launch day

The first thing to remember is that Apple will limit customers to purchasing only two new iPhones per day. This is to prevent scalping. At 6 a.m., Apple will split customers into two lines. One for new buyers and one for reservations. Perhaps customers will also be treated with some food and drinks to keep them happy. iPhone sales will start at 8 a.m. Apple will begin taking reservations for customers about 15 minutes before the doors open. Customers can then leave the line and rejoin again at the allocated time.

If Apple Stores run out of stock for the iPhone, then the staff will encourage customers to place their order online or tell them to make a reservation at a future date. Customers will also be informed about all the different ways they can buy the new iPhone, which includes Apple’s new iPhone Upgrade Program, upgrade eligibility and recycling options.
