Apple Inc. iPhone 6S Sets Record With 13 Million Sold In 3 Days

Updated on

Apple is still the king. The tech titan announced blowout sales figures for its new iPhone 6S and 6s Plus on Monday, and the stock is moving up in pre-market trading.

Applemania apparently can’t be stopped, as the firm announced it has sold more than 13 million new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus devices in just three days since the launch last week. This stunning sales figure far eclipses the previous $10 million one-weekend sales record Apple set last year.

The firm also noted that the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus will be available in at least 40 more countries as of October 9, including Italy, Mexico, Russia, Spain and Taiwan. The new iPhones will be for sale in more than 130 countries by the end of the year.

Apple fans should check out the Apple Store app or visit Apple.com to get the latest updates on availability and estimated delivery dates for the new phones. Keep in mind that customers who purchase an iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus at an Apple Retail Store receive a free Personal Setup service.

Statement from Apple CEO Tim Cook

“Sales for iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus have been phenomenal, blowing past any previous first weekend sales results in Apple’s history,” commented Apple CEO Tim Cook. “Customers’ feedback is incredible and they are loving 3D Touch and Live Photos, and we can’t wait to bring iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus to customers in even more countries on October 9.”
