Previously we told our readers everything we know about the OnePlus Two, but now some new and interesting details have been revealed by the company. In an official post, OnePlus says that this is the last announcement until the launch on July 27th.
Details on RAM revealed by OnePlus
The company says that the OnePlus Two will feature 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM, that’s 1GB more compared to the OnePlus One which comes with 3GB RAM. In fact, it’s even 1GB more than the recently launched Samsung Galaxy S6. To justify the 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM, OnePlus says that it will have the advantage of lower power consumption for better battery efficiency. “With LPDDR4, you get twice the bandwidth performance as the LPDDR3 at the same power consumption profile.”
The company adds “All in all, LPDDR4 on the OnePlus 2 allows an even better user experience when using features such as slow-motion video, face recognition, and low-latency gaming–features that typically use a lot of bandwidth and can cause heavy lagging.”
The company has previously revealed that the smartphone will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 v2.1 processor, USB Type-C port and an integrated fingerprint sensor, which they claim will be faster than the Touch ID.
Pricing speculation comes to an end, kind of
In a Google+ post, CEO Pete Lau promised that the device will cost less than $450. He said, “Honestly, it’s never been about the price. We simply make the best smartphones we can, and we go from there.” However, it’s worth noting that he said “less than” and hasn’t mentioned the exact price.
Can this under $450 price by the Chinese smartphone maker entice users, and can it give other devices a run for their money? Only time will tell. But one thing’s for sure, and that is that other high-end phones will see stiff competition from OnePlus.
On July 27th, the phone will be launched by the company with a VR (virtual reality) experience. Apparently, users will be able to check out the phone in a new way, and experience it like never before.
