Galaxy Note 4 Gets Cheaper As Galaxy Note 5 Launch Approaches

Updated on

If you were looking to purchase Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4, this is probably the best time to buy the phablet. The Korean electronics giant is widely expected to launch its next-gen Galaxy Note 5 at the annual IFA event in September. So, Samsung is trying to sell as many units of Note 4 as possible before the new model arrives. The company has launched a promotional campaign called “Notable Savings” that offers $200 rebate after you purchase the Note 4 at full price.

Get $200 rebate on Note 4

The offer starts today (Tuesday, July 7th) and runs through 11:59 PM ET July 26th. Here is how the promotion works. You have to buy the Note 4 at full price from a participating retailer, excluding Spring and U.S. Cellular. Then visit the Samsung Promotions website to claim the rebate. You will be required to provide your contact information, your new phone’s IMED number and Wi-Fi MAC address. Samsung also requires you to upload a picture of the receipt showing the purchased device and the date of purchase.

Once you provide the required information, you will receive an email confirmation. Samsung says the rebate check is mailed to customers about 8-10 weeks following validation of purchase. The Note 4 costs $700 on T-Mobile. The rebate will bring down the cost to just $500, which is cheaper than $544 it currently sells for on Amazon. Buyers have one month to claim their rebates after the promotion ends.

Galaxy Note 5 features leaked

The promotion is further proof that the Galaxy Note 5 is all set to arrive in September. We have seen several leaked images and videos of the device in the past few weeks. Leaked images suggest that the Galaxy Note 5 will have the same design as the Galaxy S6. It means the new phablet won’t have a removable battery. That shouldn’t be a major cause of worry because the phablet will feature a huge 4,100mAh battery.

Reports suggest that the Galaxy Note 5 would feature a 5.89-inch Super AMOLED 2K display, and an auto-ejectable S Pen stylus. Last month, Samsung won a patent for an auto-ejectable stylus that uses magnets to automatically eject the stylus. Contrary to past rumors, the Note 5 won’t feature the Type-C USB port. The Galaxy Note 5 will be powered by an all-in-one Exynos 7422 processor that combines RAM, CPU, GPU, storage and memory on a single chip.
