iPhone Air Imagined With Ultra-Slim Body [Concept]

Updated on

We still have about four months before Apple unveils its next-gen iPhone, which could be an iPhone 6S or iPhone 7. While the Cupertino-based tech giant has not confirmed anything, the very well-connected KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes that Apple will launch the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus in September. Meanwhile, concept designers continue to come with eye-catching iPhone concepts.

A 4.3mm iPhone with 4-inch display

Now Set Solution has come up with a new concept for an ultra-slim device they call iPhone Air. As its name suggests, the iPhone Air is even thinner than the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, measuring at 4.3mm. It sports the same design as the current iPhone models. But the iPhone Air is smaller at a 4-inch screen size. Though there have been a lot of rumors and leaks about a 4-inch iPhone 6C, Ming-Chi Kuo says Apple has no plans to launch a 4-inch smartphone this year.

Set Solution’s rendering looks somewhat realistic because it is in line with Apple’s latest iPhone design principles. The designers imagined the device with 1920 x 1080 Full HD display, 13MP main camera with 4K video support, a huge 3,200mAh battery and 32GB/64GB internal storage options. Even though it looks stunning, Apple is unlikely to launch such a device this year.

Why Apple may not launch a 4.3mm iPhone Air in 2015

Before making a 4.3mm thick iPhone Air, Apple will have to figure out how to significantly improve battery life without compromising on performance and specs of the device. Its full HD display would also compromise the Cupertino company’s retina formula. So, this concept should be taken with a pinch of salt.

KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said in a research note earlier this week that Apple is preparing to launch a 4.7-inch iPhone 6S and 5.5-inch iPhone 6S Plus later this year. Both devices will feature the Force Touch technology, which may prompt even the current iPhone model users to upgrade. Kuo said Force Touch would be the biggest selling point of the next-gen iPhones.

The analyst noted that the iPhone 6S and its bigger sibling would also be available in rose gold color option. The new devices will feature a 12-megapixel main camera, 2GB RAM, and A9 processor.
