Afghanistan: Gunmen attack building In Kabul

A group of gunmen launched a coordinated attack in Kabul city earlier tonight. The gunmen have reportedly entered the guesthouse and stand off between the Afghan security forces and the militants is underway.

The incident has taken place in the vicinity of Kolola Poshta and there are no reports regarding the casualties so far. Law enforcement agencies have arrived at the scene.

“Three to four gunmen entered Park Palace guesthouse in the evening. Security forces have been dispatched to the area,” a senior security official told AFP on Wednesday condition of anonymity.

No group has taken responsibility for the attack yet.

Earlier Wednesday, gunmen killed 12 people and wounded 12 in an attack on a government compound in the city of Lashkar Gah, the capital of Helmand province.
