The new Retina MacBook design
The new 12-inch MacBook features a super thin chassis that is about half an inch thick, a Retina display and a thinner keyboard with larger keys. The keyboard features a butterfly design for better stabilization. Other notable features include single USB-C port and low-power core processor.
The new MacBook received rave reviews from reviewers who compared it to the first-generation MacBook Air thanks to the cutting edge. However, there are notable cons such performance compromises. The Core M processor lags compared to more powerful Intel processors available on Apple’s notebooks, but it still gets the job done. The new Apple computer is available in three color options, including Silver, Space Gray and Gold.
Apple’s MacBook comes in two configurations
Apple’s latest MacBook comes in two configuration options. The first option is the entry level model with 1.1GHz processor, 8GB of memory, 256GB of flash storage and Intel’s Graphics 5300 HD card. It retails at $1,299. The more expensive version comes with a 1.2GHz processor, 8GB of memory, 512GB of storage and Intel’s Graphics 5300 HD card. This version retails at $1,599.
The 12-inch MacBook features a minimalist design to fit in with modern style. Since it first debuted last month, media personalities and analysts remain split on opinions. Some are entranced with the new look, and others scratch their heads. The new design is quite a wonder. Since there is no current tech device that uses the USB-C port right now, users will have to purchase a dongle to power the computer while using an external monitor at the same time. The port is used for power, data and video on the MacBook.
