LG G4 vs iPhone 6 vs Galaxy S6: Specs Showdown

Updated on

The high-end smartphone battle has just intensified. South Korean electronics major LG has announced its latest flagship smartphone G4. LG G4 is a “worthy upgrade” to its predecessor, says Jason Parker of CNet. Let’s take a look at how it stacks up against what would be its biggest rivals: the iPhone 6 and Samsung Galaxy S6.

LG G4 vs iPhone 6 vs Galaxy S6: design

Apple’s iPhone 6 has an aluminum frame, while Samsung has chosen to go with a metal frame and a glass back. The LG G4 has a leather back cover. G4’s leather rear cover looks impressive, but its plastic frame is not on the same level. Still, its leather has a pleasant texture.

LG G4 vs iPhone 6 vs Galaxy S6: display

All the three devices have a great display. LG G4 features a 5.5-inch Quad HD display, and the Galaxy S6 comes with a 5.1-inch Quad HD display with 557ppi pixel density. The iPhone 6 features a 4.7-inch 720p screen. Quad HD gives G4 and Galaxy S6 a clear edge over the iPhone. Between G4 and S6, colors are much richer on LG’s device. LG Electronics claims that its screen displays 98% accurate to the Digital Cinema Initiative’s standard set, compared to just 80% for the Galaxy S6.

LG G4 vs iPhone 6 vs Galaxy S6: battery

LG G4 has the biggest battery of all at 3,000mAh. On top of that, unlike the Galaxy S6 and iPhone 6, G4 has a removable battery. Samsung’s Galaxy S6 features a 2,550mAh battery while the iPhone 6 packs a 1,810mah battery. However, LG’s device doesn’t have a fast charging technology.

LG G4 vs iPhone 6 vs Galaxy S6: Camera

While Apple is still stuck with an 8-megapixel camera, Samsung has upped the game in camera technology with the Galaxy S6. And now LG is taking the fight to a whole new level with G4’s 16MP main camera and 8MP front-facing camera. It offers more accurate color and detail. LG G4 has a proper manual mode that lets users take images that rival pictures taken on a DSLR camera.

LG G4 vs iPhone 6 vs Galaxy S6: storage

LG’s latest device is a clear winner in terms of storage space. It comes with 32GB internal storage and a microSD slot that supports up to 128GB. Neither the iPhone 6 nor Galaxy S6 give you the option to expand storage space. Galaxy S6 comes in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB storage options, while the iPhone 6 offers 16GB, 64GB and 128GB storage space.

LG G4 is the device for you if you want the best-in-class display, camera, expandable storage, and a removable battery.
