iPhone 7 To Be Available In Pink Color [REPORT]

If you wanted to buy a premium smartphone in pink color, Apple’s next smartphone, likely to be called the iPhone 7, should be on your list. Citing supply chain sources, Lorraine Luk of The Wall Street Journal reports that Apple is testing a pink option for new iPhones to go alongside the gold, silver and space gray colors.

Will pink create the same magic as gold?

It won’t be an iPhone 5C-style pink plastic. Instead, the iPhone 7 will be available in pink aluminum, pretty much like HTC’s latest One M9. John Brownlee of Cult of Mac hopes it to be like Apple Watch’s rose gold color. The Cupertino company has long offered pink option in its iPod lineup. But bringing the iPhone 7 in pink would make things more interesting.

Apple rarely brings new colors to its iPhone lineup. But when the company introduced the iPhone 5S in gold, consumers loved it. Since then, the company has rolled out gold to much of its products. However, The Journal cautioned that Apple’s plans may change. Luk further said that Apple had no plans to release a 4-inch iPhone this year. Over the past few months, there were reports that the tech giant was working on a 4-inch iPhone that could be launched in 2015.

iPhone 7 to have SiP modules

Separately, Chinese website the Commercial Times reported Tuesday that Apple had ordered the system-in-package (SiP) modules from Taiwanese supplier Advanced Semiconductor Engineering (ASE). DigiTimes said the modules will be used in the iPhone 7. Small size of the SiP may free up more space for batteries in the iPhones and Apple Watch.

The Wall Street Journal also reported that the iPhone 7 display will feature Force Touch technology that was introduced with Apple Watch. The pressure-sensing technology can detect between a light tap and a deep press on the screen. The report says the new iPhones will have the same 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch screen size and “similar” resolutions.
