Samsung is going extra mile to make sure that its forthcoming Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge are the best smartphones ever made. Yesterday, MyDrivers (via Phone Arena) spotted the curved display Galaxy S6 Edge passing through the AnTuTu benchmark. Benchmark scores show that the S6 Edge will be the most powerful smartphone ever, as it exceeded every other score ever recorded by AnTuTu.

AnTuTu also revealed its specifications alongside the test results. The device with model number SM-G925W8, thought to be Galaxy S6 Edge, will run Android 5.0.2 Lollipop right out of the box. It will sport a 5.1-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display, a 20-megapixel main camera, 5-megapixel front camera, and 3GB RAM. It will be powered by Exynos 7420 processor with 2.1GHz clock speed, and the ARM Mali-T760.

The Galaxy S6 Edge scored a record high 60,978 in test results. AnTuTu benchmarking is a multi-stage test. Though Exynos 7420 has improved over Exynos 5433 on every single parameter, the biggest change could be seen in 3D objects realization. Samsung dropped Snapdragon 810 from its new phones in favor of its in-house Exynos 7420 because of overheating issues with Qualcomm’s latest processor.

Galaxy S6 Edge more powerful than the iPad Air 2

Separately, Phone Arena has spotted a new multi-core Geekbench benchmark score for the Galaxy S6 Edge. It shows that Samsung’s next curved display smartphone will be even more powerful than the iPad Air 2. The octa-core Exynos 7420 processor in the S6 Edge crushed it with 1,492 points in single-core and a staggering 5,077 points in the multi-core test. By comparison, the iPad Air 2 scored 4,532 on the multi-core test.

The Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge will debut on March 1 at the Galaxy Unpacked event in Barcelona. On February 4, Samsung filed for trademarks for the names Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. The devices are expected to have similar features and specs, except a dual-edge display in the S6 Edge. Recently leaked Galaxy S6 metal frames suggest that it will have an iPhone 6-like design.

The Korean electronics giant will launch a new Samsung Pay mobile payment system with its next-gen smartphones.
