iPad Mini 4 And iPad Pro To Release In April [REPORT]

Updated on

Apple is gearing up to launch the iPad Mini 4 and possibly the iPad Pro. Although the iPad Mini 3 was an overall nice tablet, it still left many wanting more. As such, there are high expectations for the next budget-friendly tablet.

Rumors regarding the upcoming gadget point towards a thinner design and A8X processor. Given Apple’s history of launching new iPad Mini tablet in October, it’s very likely we will have to wait until the latter part of the year. However, a new rumor indicates the forthcoming tablet may debut with the rumored iPad Pro in April or June.

The iPad Pro may be just the ticket to bring up slow tablet growth. Although mobile and smartphones continue to grow, the market for tablets significantly declined. During Q4 2014, Apple sold 12.31 million iPad and iPad Mini tablets. That number was down by 7% from the previous quarter and down by 13% the year prior. This has been the lowest number of iPad sales since Q2 2012. Given the fact many Apple fans have been wanting a larger iPhone for quite some time and they got it late last year with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, it may be time for Apple to consider launching a larger tablet.

Previous reports indicate the iPad Pro may feature a 12.2 to 12.9 inch display complete with resolution of 2,732 by 2,048. It may also feature a modified A8X chip or possibly a new chip.

The iPad Pro would be the same iPad everyone knows only in a larger size. One thing we can anticipate with the larger iPad would be a higher price. A larger battery and display could add an additional $200 to $300. With all that said, a larger iPad may be marketed towards professionals such as those in medical or creative fields.
