Will iOS 9 have indoor navigation technology?

The Cupertino company may use its recent acquisitions to enhance the next OS. The acquisition of Embark and HopStop could help the company add public transit data into the platform. Apple is reportedly also interested in indoor navigation technology, following the acquisition of WiFiSLAM in 2013. App developers are also hoping that the iOS 9 would open Siri to third-party software. Apple could also give developers access to the NFC chip, making it compatible for services beyond Apple Pay.

The leaks show just how much we can expect from Apple in the first half of this year. The company is expected to release iOS 8.1.3 soon to fix multiple bugs including batter, WiFi and Bluetooth issues that affect older iPhones. Then there will be iOS 8.2 along with the Apple Watch.

Moreover, Apple is expected to launch a radically overhauled 12-inch MacBook Air with almost no external ports. Apple shares jumped 2% to $111.43 at 1:14 PM EST on Tuesday.
