We can’t predict what Samsung’s next flagship Galaxy S6 would look like until it’s unveiled in the next few months. But it will be materially different from its predecessors.The Korean electronics giant is committed to giving it a completely new look and feel. Now French website NoWhereElse has obtained images of a purported Galaxy S6 metal case.
Samsung may show the Galaxy S6 to partners at CES
The photo shows an all-metal body with cutouts to accommodate a centrally-positioned camera, antennas and the loudspeaker. The slot at the bottom will potentially minimize the metal chassis’ interference with wireless signals. It will be different from the previous Samsung devices with metal frames because, unlike Galaxy Alpha and Galaxy Note 4, it will have a full metal case.
A report from SamMobile claims that Samsung will display the Galaxy S6 at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week. However, the device won’t be on display for consumers. Instead, Samsung will show it only to select partners, presumably telecom carriers and accessory manufacturers. Reports claim that the device will be officially unveiled at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in early March.
Samsung drops a hint about Galaxy S6
Samsung might have just dropped a major hint about the Galaxy S6. The company has released a new video explaining the step-by-step process to set up its Knox security software. In the video, Samsung shows a smartphone that looks pretty similar to the leaked Galaxy S6 images we have seen so far. The phone in the video has thinner side bezels than the Galaxy S5, but looks slightly larger than its predecessor. It resembles a leaked prototype spotted by Iranian website Toranji last week.
Expected details of the phone include a 5.5-inch Quad HD display, 3GB RAM, and Exynos 7420 processor with Mali-T760 GPU. Another version is expected to run Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810. The device will run the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop. It will reportedly feature 20-megapixel main camera and 5-megapixel front snapper. Last month, the Galaxy S6 was shipped to India for testing and evaluation purposes.
