Billionaire investor and entrepreneur Elon Musk is divorcing his actress wife Talulah Riley again. Musk and Riley exchanged wedding vows for the second time almost 18 months ago. Musk and Riley previously divorced after their first four year marriage in January 2012, then decided to marry again the next year. The couple had no children together, but Musk is the father of five children from an earlier marriage.

Musk, a co-founder of Paypal and the founder of Tesla Motors and SpaceX, filed the papers to annul his marriage to Riley on New Year’s Eve in Los Angeles County Superior Court.

Details on Elon Musk’s divorce
A number of media sources are reporting that the power couple has reached an amicable settlement of $16 million in cash and other assets for Riley.
Of note, that $16 million and change is a good bit more than the $4.2 million settlement Riley was reported to have received after her first divorce from Musk.
But any way you look at it, $16 million is chump change for a man whose combined SolarCity and Tesla holdings are valued at close to $7 billion.
Of interest, the second break up with Talulah Riley is actually Elon Musk’s third divorce. He filed for divorce from from sci-fi novelist Justine Musk back in 2008, a marriage that produced five sons. That split up, however, was somewhat acrimonious, and went public with blogs from both parties declaring their points of view.
Fortunately, it looks like Musk’s second split up with Riley is not going to devolve into unpleasantness from either party.
