A toddler accidentally shot a three-year-old in the leg after he found a shotgun. WBAL-TV and other media outlets report that it happened last night around 9:30 Eastern in Baltimore.

In a separate case in another part of the country, a three-year-old girl was reportedly shot in the head on accident by her brother.

Boy in stable condition

Officers said they responded to calls of a gunshot at a home where they found a three-year-old boy inside with a gunshot wound to the leg. Emergency personnel transported the boy to the hospital where he was listed in stable condition. Police believe that the boy and another toddler were playing in one of the bedrooms inside the home when they found a shotgun and one accidentally shot the oher.

Officials are still investigating the shooting incident. It’s unclear at this point whether any charges will be filed in the case.

Three-year-old girl also shot in another case

In another story, WKYC is reporting that a four-year-old boy accidentally shot his sister in the head. It happened a little after 10 a.m. at a home in Ohio. The girl was reported to be in critical condition. Police said the two children were playing in their home when they found a handgun and the boy accidentally fired it while playing.

However, the children’s father claimed in a statement made to officers that two men wearing all black came to their door and began shooting, hitting his daughter before fleeing. The children’s mother said she believed that one of the children had found their father’s gun and thought it was one of their toy guns.
