Another notable Android update includes destination details. Simply tap the pin on the destination and you will find more details about the destination. These unique changes were highlighted by the Android Police right after the search giant unveiled an overhaul for the Maps experience. This means Google Maps not only has a new look with bold colors and a layered experience. It also features Open Table integration which makes it easier to make restaurant reservations.

Google’s Thanksgiving travel tips

Last week, Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) (NASDAQ:GOOG) offered Thanksgiving tips to travelers and even included insight from major cities to provide more accurate tips. The search giant recommended that travelers hit the road on Wednesday afternoon rather than the evening, Sunday travel is better than Saturday travel, and to stock up on essentials such as pie and wine right before hitting the road. Google compiled a list of traffic statistics from 21 cities including Austin, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Honolulu, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Portland, Providence, San Francisco, Seattle, St. Louis, Tampa, and Washington DC.

A mobile shopping search tweak

This holiday season, Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) (NASDAQ:GOOG) is really taking the initiative to offer more than just a search engine and Android. The company hopes to simplify the entire holiday season. Google will also tweak the shopping results for it’s mobile site. When a user searches for a product on a smartphone or tablet, they will be able to read reviews and find out where to purchase the searched for item. Users will also be able to rotate certain products by 360 degrees for a better view.

Many savvy shoppers use their smartphones when shopping at brick-and-mortar stores to compare prices at offline and online stores. Since some retailers offer the same products at different prices online and offline, retailers should be able to honor the online price.
