The cloud storage war is heating up as Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has announced that if you subscribe to Office 365, then you will also receive unlimited storage with OneDrive. Best of all, this unlimited storage will be available for both the consumer and business versions of Office 365. Prior to this announcement, OneDrive had a relatively small storage limit of 1TB.
OneDrive: Unlimited storage adds more value to Office 365 subscription
An Office 365 subscription is available at around $65 for consumers, with discounts sometimes lowering the price even further. For this reasonable price, users not only get Microsoft Office, but also unlimited OneDrive storage for which they don’t have to pay anything extra, thus making it a very attractive option.
This announcement by Microsoft will definitely put pressure on other cloud storage service providers such as Dropbox and Google Drive. Dropbox charges $9.99 a month for 1TB of storage, but you don’t get Office 365 asd part of the deal.
With unlimited OneDrive storage for Office 365 subscribers, consumers, commercial and educational users will have far more possibilities than before. Users can now store whatever they want on OneDrive, be it a 2GB video file or many TB’s of data for safe backup. Office 365 users have just gotten one more reason to stay with Microsoft.
However, Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is not in the mood to offer more free storage space to free OneDrive users, but free users can store up to 15GB of data before their storage limit is reached. Dropbox, on the other hand, offers only 2GB of storage to its free users, which means that OneDrive wins hands down once again.
