A Chat With William Thorndike And William Cohan

The New York Society of Security Analysts is hosting another one of its ongoing author series on Thursday, October 30th. This event — A Fireside Chat with William Thorndike and William Cohan — is open to the public (for a small fee) at NYSSA Conference Center, 1540 Broadway, Suite 1010, New York, NY. The topic for the fireside chat is “the challenge for management to create value in a climate of rising shareholder activism and increased M&A activity.”

Biography of William Cohan

In his first career, William Cohan was senior investment banker with Lazard Frères & Co., Merrill Lynch and JPMorgan. He has today, however, blossomed into a New York Times bestselling author of three non-fiction books about Wall Street—Money and Power: How Goldman Sachs Came to Rule the World, House of Cards: A Tale of Hubris and Wretched Excess on Wall Street and The Last Tycoons: The Secret History of Lazard Frères & Co. Cohan’s latest book, The Price of Silence, focusing on the Duke University lacrosse scandal, became available to the public in April. He is also a regular contributor to Vanity Fair, the DealBook section of the New York Times, The Financial Times and Bloomberg BusinessWeek, as well as a MSNBC, Bloomberg TV and CNN.  Cohan has earned degrees from Duke University, Columbia University School of Journalism and the Columbia University Graduate School of Business.

Biography of William Thorndike

William N. Thorndike is the founder and managing director of Housatonic Partners, a New England-based private equity firm with over $1 billion under management. Before establishing Housatonic in 1994, he worked for T. Rowe Price Associates and Walker & Company, where he served on the BoD. Thorndike has degrees from from Harvard College and the Stanford Graduate School of Business. His runaway bestseller, The Outsiders: Eight Unconventional CEOs and Their Radically Rational Blueprint for Success, first came out in 2012.
