Make Typing More Comfortable With One Hand On iPhone 6

Updated on

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s new iPhones come with a bigger screen size, and if you’re used to using smaller-sized phones, then in certain conditions, you might have to use both hands to use it. This is a compromise that needs to be done when using bigger-sized phones. However, Apple did tried to tackle this situation with its Readability feature, although it does not help when using the new larger keyboard. A solution comes in the form of an app known as One-Handed Keyboard.

Thankfully, Apple now allows developers to create third-party keyboards, which means quicker typing using Swift, and in this case, better one-handed typing.

One-Handed Keyboard on iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus

The One-Handed Keyboard, as the name suggests, designed to be the same size as that of the iPhone 5S, 5, and 4S. With this keyboard, you can reach all the letters with just your thumb, even on the bigger iPhone 6 Plus. The keyboard is very basic with no fancy features, but it works. It can be docked to either side of the screen and can be quickly switched between left- and right-handed typing by holding the space bar.

The keyboard automatically switches between dark and light themes to match the user interface and also the color of the keys can be customized. There’s also spell check and auto-correct with suggestions.

The app costs $1.99, and after purchasing, you’ll need to head over to the iOS Settings app and go to General >Keyboard > Keyboards > Add New Keyboard > One-Handed Keyboard to activate the new keyboard.

If you’ve tried it, then let us know what you think about this keyboard. It is a perfect app for those with small fingers or who prefer more one-handed use of the keyboard.
