Infinity Arm – A New Cine Arm For GoPro Inc, DSLR Cameras

Updated on

A group of filmmakers at Los Angeles-based 27 Notch was frustrated when they couldn’t find a high quality, affordable and versatile support equipment for cameras, lights and monitors. So, they have designed a brand new Infinity Arm that is so strong that it can easily hold a Sony F55 in place. In fact, Phil Donlon of the camera production/rental company 27 Notch claims that it is “the strongest articulating arms on the market.”

Infinity Arm’s mounting options include GoPro mount, cold shoe and 1/4″-20 male

The Infinity Arm is a fully articulated support arm equipped with 360° rotatable and interchangeable ends. Its ends are attached to a quick release to switch out accessories. The current prototype of Infinity Arm measures 8.5-inch long, and can take a payload of well over 10 pounds. The equipment gets its holding strength from a rosette on each arm. It is made up of steel and aluminum.

It has just two arms and one knob with no loose parts. Since all ramps and bearings are internal, there is no risk of losing any small parts. What’s more, you can quickly remove or add accessories with a push button. The currently available mounting options are GoPro mount, cold shoe and 1/4″-20 male. 27 Notch is also working to add female 1/4″-20, baby pin and custom clamp in the near future.

You can easily modify the angle of the tips

It comes with various attachments for different types of cameras. The push button system releases the ball tips when you loosen the arm. It allows you to quickly modify the angle of the tips while the arms remain in their position. The Infinity Arm began appearing on the Internet earlier this month. Their Kickstarter is in the last seven days.

27 Notch says the Infinity Arm provides you security when you need it. They also have a custom Infinity Arm denim bag that has individual pockets to hold the arm and up to six accessories.
