Apple Inc. Store Down Ahead of iPad Air 2 Launch

Updated on

Today is a big event for Apple Inc. NASDAQ:AAPL and to prepare ahead for the big event, the tech giant made the official Apple online store unavailable. This means that fans will be able to pre-order whatever the company officially unveils today.

On Wednesday evening, the iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3 were accidentally leaked on the iTunes store. Some sources also believe the company will unveil a new iMac with Retina display. Yesterday, we reported details on the iPad leak. The iPad Air 2 will include Burst Mode that enable users to take rapid fire photos.  Both devices will feature TouchID fingerprint sensors and iOS 8.1.

Perhaps the most interesting thing about Apple’s iPad leak is the timing. The company’s rival Google was already kicking off launches of Nexus 6, Nexus 9, and Nexus Player. The search giant also unveiled its latest mobile operating system Lollipop.

There has been many rumors involving the iPad Air 2, or iPad 6 as it is sometimes referred to. PC Advisor recently rounded up the collection of rumors involving the next tablet. Previous rumors include 9.7 inch screen, 2GB RAM, better camera, lightning headphones, and A8 processor.

The next iPad will likely feature the same display size as the current iPad but there is a strong possibility it will feature better resolution. It will also likely feature the same overall iPad design we have come to expect. That said, it would not be surprising if Apple managed to take off a few meters and make the device a little bit lighter. Apple may also offer a gold version of the iPad Air 2.

Apple fans who can’t attend the live event will be able to stream the launch on their iPhone, Mac, or iPad. Users should check if your software is updated prior to the event.
