Zynga Inc Shares Details Of Upcoming Looney Tunes Dash

Updated on

Zynga Inc (NASDAQ:ZNGA), which entered into a partnership with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment in August 2014, revealed more details for its upcoming mobile game called Looney Tunes Dash on Wednesday. The new game from Zynga focuses on various Looney Tunes characters such as Bugs Bunny, Tweety Bird, Roadrunner and more.

Different characters to choose from

The upcoming Zynga game allows players to assume the roles of the characters, and each character has a specific enemy that it has to run away from. Different characters have to escape from getting caught by different enemies. For example, Bugs Bunny has to run away from Elmer Fudd, Tweety has to escape from Sylvester and so on.

The game is full of adventures with players facing a number of obstacles, and they need to overcome those obstacles by jumping, sliding and smashing into or around obstacles. A special ability is granted to each character, and it gets unleashed as the player is on a quest to complete the objective. Through this run and chase game, the players will also be required to collect the stars spread across the screen and earn points also. That’s all that is known for now and some details are still under wraps.

What makes this Zynga game different?

The game has several levels, and in each level the player is required to complete the objectives unlike the other games where the player keeps on running endlessly with no objective. A trailer of the game shows Tweety escaping into Grandma’s house when it reaches the end of the stage.

John vanSuchtelen, general manager of Looney Tunes Dash, mentioned in a blog that the game has been created in sync with the demand of players. There are already games in the market with players required to run and save themselves from the enemy, but such games do not have any specific objective to complete or destination to reach. They just had to maximize their points by running the maximum possible distance.  This makes Zynga Inc’s Looney Tunes Dash different from other such games.

Looney Tunes Dash will be made available in selected markets this week, and a global roll-out will follow. Looney Tunes Dash is not the first running game from Zynga, as the gaming firm has also released endless runner Stampede Run (originally Running with Friends) in 2013.
