Ira Sohn Conference backgroud

The Sohn Conference Foundation was created in honor of Ira Sohn, a talented Wall Street professional whose life was cut short when he passed away from cancer at the age of 29. In  1995, Ira’s colleagues, friends and family created the Ira Sohn Research Conference, which evolved into The Sohn Conference Foundation – a leading funder in pediatric cancer research and care. The Sohn Investment Conference has to date raised more than US$50 million through conferences held in New York, San Francisco, London, Hong Kong and now Canada.

Capitalize for Kids was created to mobilize private capital for public good by putting on initiatives at the intersection of finance and child health. Through events and partnerships, the organization’s goal is to become a permanent and growing source of capital for the Hospital for Sick Children, one of the largest  and most respected pediatric health-science centers in the world.
