iWatch Design Drawings Leaked Ahead of Launch

Updated on

Tomorrow is a big day for Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) as the company purportedly plans on unveiling the iPhone 6 and iWatch. For those who can’t wait for the next big thing, a new report has surfaced involving the wearable. The latest report comes from Reddit which shared CAD designed drawings of the chassis and components of the iWatch.

A possible iWatch design

The descriptions accompanying the drawings report the device will feature a multi-touch flexible screen to add dimension to the user interface. The report also indicates the wearable won’t feature a lightening connector or other ports. It was added battery charge will last over a day.

The Apple iWatch is also expected to be waterproof up to 20 meters. This device will feature Siri voice assistant. It will be available in eight models involving two sizes and four different colors.

The leak reports the iWatch will feature a round hole made for the sensor plate which will be in contact with the skin. A chunk that was missing is where the crown will go.

Another look at the drawings

It is important to note that although anyone could have made these drawings, it is noted the images include a Quanta watermark. Quanta is a manufacturer Apple used for previous products, so there does appear to be a sense of legitimacy with the watermark although watermarks occassionally are faked.

Apple is set to introduce the iWatch on Tuesday along with the iPhone 6 during a press event. Both gadgets are highly anticipated, but the possible wearable is perhaps one of more exciting advances. Smartwatches are perhaps one of the most exciting new gadgets. There are already dozens of wearables on the market, fans are still hoping Apple will revive the industry with something fresh and innovative. Given the tech giant’s history of reinventing technology products, there is a lot to look forward to.
