With only one day to go to the biggest tech release of the year, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) fans are eagerly awaiting getting their hands on their pre-ordered iPhone 6 devices for the first time. With Apple releasing two models of the iPhone, it will be looking for particularly outstanding sales figures. But how do the new iPhone 6 devices compare to their previous generation predecessors? iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c – The Comparison
Display
Probably the most noticeable difference between the two devices is that the Apple iPhone 6 has been fitted with a much higher quality display than its predecessor. Firstly, the screen is much bigger, being 4.7-inches in size. This compares to the iPhone 5c, which had a 4-inch screen.

Firstly, the iPhone 6 has been armed with a dual-core 1.4 GHz Cyclone processor, which is said to perform significantly faster than the processor in the iPhone 5c. According to Apple, the iPhone 6 has a 20% faster CPU and 50% faster GPU than its predecessor.
The A8 chipset included in the iPhone 6 will also give the device a great deal of clout. Comparing this to the A6 chipset in the iPhone 5c suggests that the iPhone 6 will be a considerably more powerful and nifty performer than the iPhone 5c handset.
Battery
Battery life is another area where Apple has significantly improved the iPhone 6 over the iPhone 5c. Display
The iPhone 6 Plus is by far the biggest device of its type that Apple has produced so far, fitted as it is with a 5.5-inch screen. And it also delivers a much higher screen resolution, with the iPhone 6 Plus being the first full HD capable iPhone that Apple has produced. Thus, the iPhone 6 Plus delivers a screen resolution of 1,080 x 1,920 pixels; a pretty vast improvement over the iPhone 5s which was only capable of displaying 640 x 1,136 pixels.

Dimensions
Another interesting aspect of the iPhone 6 Plus is that it is slightly slimmer than the iPhone 5s despite being much larger overall. The fact that its screen is over 15 percent larger than the previous iteration of the iPhone, yet is still slimmer, is a pretty major technical achievement.
Processor, Chipset and Camera
The situation with the processor chipset and camera within the iPhone 6 Plus is pretty much the same as with the smaller iPhone 6 device and the iPhone 5c. The iPhone 6 will outperform the iPhone 5s in each of these categories, and has been fitted with very similar internal mechanisms and components to the smaller iPhone 6.
One major difference is that the iPhone 6 Plus features a very advanced optical image stabilization system in its camera, which separates itself from both the smaller iPhone 6 and the iPhone 5s handset. The iPhone 6 Plus is certainly the camera in the Apple smartphone range – although technically a phablet – which would suit the serious photographer.
Battery Life
The iPhone 5s was subject to criticism for possessing a pretty weedy battery. In fact, the battery included in the iPhone 5s was little better than its smaller 5c companion device. It is very much with this criticism in mind that Apple has greatly upgraded the battery capabilities of the iPhone 6 Plus. According to Apple, the iPhone 6 Plus will provide it users with double the music play time, more than double the talk time, and considerably longer on stand-by than the iPhone 5s. Apple even claims that the iPhone 6 outperforms the Galaxy Note phablet series, so this will certainly be worth waiting for, given the vast improvement that it represents over the iPhone 5s.
NFC and Mobile Payment
Finally, a big innovation in the new iPhone 6 devices is that they both support NFC mobile payment systems. Reports have indicated recently that these will be set up to run the Apple Pay system; hardly a massive surprise.
So both the iPhone 6 models have their selling points, and one can be very confident that there will be scenes of frenzied queuing across the nations where the iPhone 6 is being released tomorrow.
