The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus go on sale at midnight on Saturday in the United Arab Emirates. The following shopping centers will be open for the big event – Mall of Emirates, Dubai Mall, Oasis Center, Deira City Center, Oasis Center, Dalma Mall, and Emax’ Sharjah Big Box.
Apple fans wait the arrival of the iPhone 6
The phones will officially be available Saturday at 12:01 am local time. Since retailers have limited supply but the demand is expected to be far greater. Jumbo Electronics lead of retail Nadeem Khanzadah explained, “We got limited quantities of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus and it will be vanished within one or two hours of sale.”
Many notable retailers started pre-bookings on the 18th of September. Emax’s chief executive officer Neelesh Bhatnager claimed pre-booked customers will get priority.
Fans don’t mind the price
Serious Apple fans aren’t afraid to spend more on the in-demand phone. A recent report from Gulf News gave examples of fans who didn’t find an issue with price. Afghan business executive Mohammad Ghulamhazad offered, “I bought the iPhone 6Plus 16GB on September 20 for Dh7,000 and sold it to a friend. I then bought the iPhone 6 for Dh5,500. I wait for the launch of new iPhones every year.” Ghulamhazad was one the few thousands in Dubai who purchased the new phone days within launch.
Another buyer named Mohammad Tayyeb, who purchased the iPhone 6 last week, is more than happy with his purchase and didn’t even balk at paying Dh5,000. However prices that fell down are expected to fall even further.
The variants of the new phone are all available in Deira’s electronics markets. However the prices may vary depending on factors such as memory size and warranty. It has also been noted that the demand for the iPhone 6 is far greater than the iPhone 6 Plus.
