The iPhone 6 launch is less than three hours away. Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s media event at Flint Center kicks off at 10:00 a.m. Pacific (1:00 p.m. Eastern). Ahead of the official launch, a Chinese leaker claims to have gotten their hands on a functioning iPhone 6. The Chinese social networking site Weibo user named Rui Kee (username “zzray”) has spilled the beans about almost every feature of the new phone.

iPhone 6 to be more powerful than HTC One M8

Note that it’s the same person who posted videos and photos of a functioning iPhone 6 over the weekend. Now they have tested the device to see how fast it is. Rui Kee has also taken several pictures from Apple’s new device to assess its camera capabilities. The Weibo user also tested the smartphone’s performance on Geekbench benchmarks.

Benchmarks revealed that the A8 processor in iPhone 6 scored a 1,633 for single-core performance and 2920 for multi-core performance. The benchmarks were first spotted by GforGames. These scores indicate that the new device will be 20% more powerful than the iPhone 5S. If these benchmark scores are correct, the iPhone 6 will be more powerful than HTC One M8.

iPhone 6 to have the same 1GB RAM

The Chinese user claims that the 64-bit A8 processor will have only two cores. In contrast, most high-end Android phones have processors with four or eight cores. What’s more, the iPhone 6 will have the same 1GB RAM as its predecessor, though with a slightly better clock speed of 1.4GHz. Apple enthusiasts expect the company to increase RAM of its new device. But additional RAM consumes more battery, resulting into faster battery drain. Anyway, Apple has always managed to deliver top-notch performance despite lower RAM.

Kee said the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 will have a resolution of 1334×750. The device will have 8-megapixel main camera, though Apple will improve the camera performance in other ways. It will have storage options of up to 128GB. And of course, the iPhone 6 will run the newest iOS 8.
