The official name of the new phone is the P’9983, and BlackBerry unveiled it at an event today in Dubai. The new smartphone is up for sale on the Porsche Design Group’s website, reports CBC News. The design group is a subsidiary of the automaker, Porsche AG.

Details on BlackBerry’s Porsche phone

Of course BlackBerry’s Porsche phone runs on BlackBerry 10. It sports an 8-megapixel camera with a lens of sapphire glass and a frame that’s made of forged stainless steel. Also Porsche phone users receive their own BlackBerry PIN that marks them as a user of the ultra-high end phone. All of the Porsche phone PINS begin with the prefix 2AA.

The P’9983 measures 110 millimeters long and 67.1 millimeters wide. That’s right around the same size as the Q10 smartphone, which also features BlackBerry’s trademark QWERTY keyboard. However, the keyboard on this new phone has keys that are apparently “glass-like” and have a 3D effect and silver font.

According to Phonedog, it also has a 3.1-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 720 x 720. It runs on a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor made by Qualcomm and has a 2-megapixel rear camera in addition to the 8-megapixel front-facing one. BlackBerry’s Porsche phone also comes with 2 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage space that can be expanded by up to 128 GB through the micro-SD card slot.

The 21 mAh battery is also removable, so it’s easily replaceable.
