Motorola Prepares For Big Event On September 4th

Updated on

Motorola Solutions Inc (NYSE:MSI) just sent out invites for upcoming event on September 4th. The event will be in Chicago. Fans are expecting the tech company to unveil Moto X, Moto G, and Moto 360.

Motorola to introduce new products soon

The teaser invite shows the letters X and G, a smartwatch, and something similar to a Bluetooth headset. It has been a long time since Motorola released new gadgets so the anticipation is strong. Motorola unveiled the Moto E earlier this year but it has yet to unveil a high-end phone. The Moto X smartphone is expected to feature a large display, 5.2 inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 800 processor, microSD card, and 2GB of RAM. The Moto G upgrade isn’t expected to receive many changes. It was one of the company’s top sellers last year and it will probably remain a top seller for the company.

A look at the Moto 360

The Moto 360 is one of the most anticipated gadgets. We’ve seen sneak previews of it and one of the most notable glimpses was at Google’s I/O. This stainless steel smartwatch will run on Android Wear. It features a large round face with a OLED display, it also exhibits a black analog on the face when the watch’s Google features are not in use.

One of the more important features of the Moto 360 is the innovative charger. This watch features magnetic Qi induction and can be charged sitting in a cradle. This is not the first gadget to take advantage of the smart charging system, Google’s Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 smartphones, and Nexus 7 tablet computer. The one problem with this watch’s charging feature is that it doesn’t have a micro USB and charging the smartwatch would require the user to bring the charging device with them on long trips. A bonus for the Moto 360 is that is won’t limit it’s compatibility to just the Moto X and Moto G. It will also be compatible with Android 4.3, Android 4.4, and Android L phones and tablets.
