Stage is set for the clash of tech titans. Samsung Electronics is launching its Galaxy Note 4 on September 3, and Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) will take the wraps off its big-screen iPhone 6 on September 9. The new launches will take the Apple-Samsung rivalry to the next level. The Cupertino company is taking a different approach with its new iPhone design. The company is expected to launch two models of its flagship smartphone, one with 4.7-inch screen and another with 5.5-inch display that will compete directly against phablets like the Galaxy Note 4.
Galaxy Note 4 vs iPhone 6: who is going to win?
Let’s take a look at the leaked features and specs of the iPhone 6 and Galaxy Note 4. Samsung’s new device has been confirmed to sport an impressive 5.7-inch quad HD display with 2560 x 1440 resolution, which gives it a pixel density of 500. Note 4 is slightly bigger than the phablet iPhone 6. The resolution of 5.5-inch iPhone 6 will be 2272 x 1280 with a pixel density of 510. Apple’s new device will come with scratch-proof sapphire display.
AnTuTu benchmarks revealed that the Galaxy Note 4 will be powered by octa-core Exynos 5433 chipset. Another variant of Note 4, to be sold in the U.S., will sport Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 with 2.5GHz clock speed. Apple’s new device will have an upgraded A8 processor. Note 4 is expected to feature 3GB RAM, and 16GB, 32GB and 64GB of internal storage. The iPhone 6 will reportedly have 16GB, 32GB and 64GB built-in storage. Latest reports suggest that Apple’s device will also come with 128GB storage.
Reports suggest that the Galaxy Note 4 will have a premium metal body. Samsung will also equip it will an ultrasonic sensor to help visually impaired users. The device will also have an eye scanner, an ultraviolet sensor, and S Pen stylus. What’s more, the Galaxy Note 4 will have four new camera modes dedicated to taking selfies. The device will have a 16MP rear camera and 3.7MP front camera. Rumors point to a 3,300mAh battery and Android KitKat 4.4.3 with the Galaxy Note 4.

Besides the screen size and sapphire display, the iOS 8 will be the key focus of the iPhone 6. Apple’s new mobile OS will have a plethora of new features such as health & fitness tracking app HealthKit and home automation app HomeKit. The Cupertino-based company is also expected to introduce a mobile payments service with the iOS 8.
The iPhone 6 is expected to have 13MP main camera, upgraded from 8MP in its predecessor. The device is also reported to feature wireless charging capabilities. Moreover, the 4.7-inch variant will come with 1810mAh battery, and its big brother will pack a 2915mAh battery. Apple suppliers will reportedly manufacture 80 million iPhone 6 units by the end of 2014.
