It’s now late August and the anticipation for Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s upcoming iPhone 6 is at an all-time high. The device, which is rumored to debut early next month, is predicted to come in two size options including a phablet-style phone. The phablet may be delayed for a little while longer because of production delays.

Both models are rumored to feature a slimmer body and a lightning connector instead of a headphone jack. Although a bigger display often means improved resolution, it is rumored Apple will keep the Retina display with the new smartphones. The phone is also expected to get a toughened sapphire screen, but the company’s chief executive officer Tim Cook has yet to confirm if it is true.

Apple may improve the camera of the iPhone 6. Several Chinese news sources speculated the device will come with a 10-megapixel camera, which is two pixels more than the current camera. Unfortunately, this nice upgrade may not satisfy everyone, especially considering the company’s top rivals have phones with 16-megapixel cameras.

One thing that we know for sure about the iPhone is that it will come with iOS 8, which was officially unveiled last June. This new mobile operating system including health oriented features which allow app designers to launch fitness-related apps. It is also rumored Apple will drop 16GB capacity version. The phones will come in 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB capacities instead.

Apple is rumored to launch the next great smartphone on September 9th during a press event and subsequently released later on that month just in time for the holiday season.
