Apple, Inc. iPhone 6 Cases Pop Up As Release Date Nears

Updated on

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has yet to officially unveil the highly anticipated iPhone 6, but cases for the new phone are already available on Amazon.com.

The phone cases currently available are based on rumor specifications and design details. Every iPhone 6 case available on the website measures 4.7 inches as all the latest reports point towards a larger iPhone. There are also rumors Apple will release a larger phablet-style iPhone 6, but that might not happen until later this year.

Retailers are ahead of the game

Amazon isn’t the only retailer that sells iPhone 6 cases before the product’s arrival. i-Blason Mobile also sells one case for the purported device. The case is called Prime Dual Layer Holster Case with Kick Stand for Apple iPhone 6. It is still advised to wait until Apple unveils the new iPhone before purchasing a case.

In related Apple news, recent promotional box art leaked shows the iPhone 6 will be unveiled on Tuesday September 9th. This report comes from a French tech news website. The box art design also revealed a new location of the power button and volume buttons. In 2013, the same website revealed the details behind the iPhone 5S mere hours prior to the actual unveiling.

Apple iPhone 6 coming soon

The author of the news report, Steve Hemmerstoffer, claims this recent report was passed on to him via a reliable source from China. The same source also mentioned Apple would release an iPhone 6 model with 128GB. A closer look at the purported phone shows the volume buttons have a new shape instead of the classic circular design, the fingerprint sensor returns, and a Lightening connector charging port.

In mid-August there were reports Apple had to do a redesign last-minute because Apple’s suppliers were trying to get the right number of screens read for the upcoming iPhone 6. This was a problem suppliers sometimes face when trying to meet up Apple’s high expectations.
