Zynga Inc (NASDAQ:ZNGA)’s former developer relation boss, Rob Dyer will join Tapjoy to enhance its developer relations, according to a report from Venture Beat. Dyer will join the company as a senior vice president of developer relation. By bringing in former PlayStation veteran, Tapjoy wants to convey to the developers that they can make more money through its reward based mobile advertising.
Dyer’s network to help Tapjoy
Tapjoy is eyeing a large pie of the mobile gaming market, which is estimated to rise to $25 billion in 2015, and to achieve this; the company is putting all its hope on former Zynga employee. The new employer of Dyer is hoping to work with the developers, who have known Dyer and are in good terms with him.
Tapjoy chief executive Steve Wadsworth said, “We’re incredibly excited to have Rob Dyer join the Tapjoy team as our SVP of developer relations.” Wadsworth added that hiring someone like Rob, who has immense ability and wide experience, enriches the organization with a veteran.
Wadsworth, also, said that Rob’s experience in both publishing and platform companies will add significant value to the strategy of the company to offer greater value to the clients and partners.
Executive exodus at Zynga
Dyer said that he is willing to assist Tapjoy in working with new partners as well as offering maximum value to the current developers. He added that Tapjoy is a unique and dynamic force in the ad tech space, and the company is into partnership with some of the best app developers in the mobile. Dyer said that he is excited about handling new challenges and working on new opportunities within the dynamic space.
Dyer left Zynga last year, in June, when the gaming giant was struggling to retain its users. Before coming to Zynga, Dyer worked at Sony Computer Entertainment America. He supervised the relationship between North American game publishers and PlayStation brand.
Zynga has been facing mass exodus, ever since the company has fallen from the prime position in the gaming space. Hardly, a month ago, LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman and Hollywood entrepreneur Jeffrey Katzenberg stepped down from the board of the troubled game maker. The company’s inability to revive from the red has led the replacement of co-founder Mark Pincus as CEO last July by former Microsoft executive Don Mattrick.
