Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX) will exclude 80 movies from its digital library and add new ones this July. According to Mashable, this year’s deletion is far behind the 2013 and 2012 elimination, when the company removed around 2,000 and 1,000 movies respectively.
Series of new movies and shows in July
Full Movie list (including Rocky and its sequel) that are being removed from Netflix can be seen on Website Nerdiots. The website revealed that the online streaming company will add some big titles like the Karate Kid trilogy, The Parent Trap and Bad Santa, Dead Man Walking, Eight Men Out, Blue Chips, Best Defense, The Hunt for Red October among others.
Netflix will, also, show new season of the running as well as new shows. Some of the shows entering into their second or third season are Hemlock Grove Season 2, Baby Daddy Season 3, Lost Girls Season 4, Witches of the East Season 1 and so on.
For viewers looking for something current would be able to watch The Master, starring the late Philip Seymour Hoffman. The show will start from July 14th. Another show, which is rather a documentary, is The Battered Bastards of Baseball that air exclusively on Netflix from July 11. Netflix will stream second season of Comedy Bang!Bang! and the third season of cult sci-fi show Continuum.
Netflix original content: What makes it special?
Netflix original content have made quite a mark and Cindy Holland, company’s head of original content along with her 16 member team is the real force behind success. Holland told in an interview to The Hollywood Reporter, last week, that how she along with her team works on original content. Holland was asked by Netflix to build the company’s original series business, which started in 2011 with a $100 million, 26-episode bet on House of Cards.
After that shows like Arrested Development and Orange is the New Black earned Holland a stature like never before. After selecting and purchasing a show Holland explains that she plays a balancing act by trying to guide the production as well as giving a free space for creative freedom.
Holland said that next step will be to bring more of a comedy shows on Netflix, which would require some sort of customization depending upon territory.
