iPhone 6 release date, price listed on Amazon Japan

Updated on

Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) Japan tossed the photo of alleged Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone 6 on its website even before any official words from the company. The giant online retailer boasts a 4.7 inch iPhone 6 variant on its Japanese websites.

Listed specs similar to reports and rumors

Apple is allegedly prepping up for launching two variants of the iPhone 6, a smaller 4.7-inches and a bigger 5.5-inches version for the high-end market. As of now Amazon, who has an image of listing products before their official launch, has put only the smaller version on exhibition. Previously, the retailer listed a highly anticipated and un-announced video game Mass Effect 4.

Amazon has surely posted a mock up as of now, but the features and the specs are not very different from what reports suggest. The specifications of the listed iPhone have a close resemblance to the reports and rumors. Sporting iOS8, iPhone 6 is powered with 64 GB internal storage and comes in gold color. According to the listing, Apple iPhone 6 will have 13 x 6.5 x 0.7 cm dimension and would weight around 113g.

The pricing is way too high, or at least what Amazon has posted on its website. Alleged iPhone 6, 4.7-inch model carries a price tag of 139.999 Japanese yen, which is equivalent to $1380. It is not clear at this point that why Amazon has chosen such a high price, especially for the smaller version.

Amazon Japan has conveyed its customers that it will start selling the iPhone 6, coming September 30th, which is allegedly the global release date of the flagship. Load of reports and rumors are already betting on mid-September date of 15th or 19th for the iPhone release.

The retailer might have pulled off some kind of traffic generating trick, where the listings are shown for few hours and then discontinued, but nothing can be claimed, as of now.

iPhone 6 larger version delayed

People are expecting that the retailer will list the larger version of the flagship in sometime, but the listing of the smaller version’s mock up itself are shady.

Trusted analyst Ming Chi Kuo of KGI Securities has stated that the launch of the 5.5 inch iPhone 6 might be postponed to 2015 due to production hurdles faced by Apple. The iPhone maker will reportedly release the smaller version this year. If reports are to be believed, Apple iPhone larger version is weak on battery and display, features most desired by the users.

According to a recent survey, the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 may not be successful in churning much of sales. The research concluded that 97% of the 1,500 respondent’s want battery power in an iPhone, whereas second most wanted feature is the larger screen. Other wishes are an enhanced camera, faster processor, microSD card and lower price point.
